Farm Name: El Aguila Regional Profile Blend
Colombia is one of our favourite coffee origins. It produces a staggering diversity of flavour profiles – everything from sweet, fruit forward and floral to rich, basey chocolate. Each region is characterised by a unique geographical landscape and microclimate, which contribute to the particular cup profile of the area. This geography also means there is always fresh coffee being harvested somewhere in the country.
The 'El Águila' blend (The Eagle) is a regional blend based on a specific cup profile. We are constantly on the hunt for regional lots that fit the flavour profile, so the region that makes up this blend will change between shipments. We receive a traceability report for each and every lot we purchase, detailing the producers whose coffees make up the blend and their locations. We also commit to paying premiums above the market rate, so producers are paid a fair price on the day they deliver their parchment.
This blend is bright, citric and floral, with lots of complexity to add structure to an espresso blend.
